2018 OYCF Speaker: Gregory Chow

Gregory Chow is Professor of Economics and Class of 1913 Professor of Political Economy, Emeritus, Princeton University. He has been a major figure in econometrics and applied economics where his academic contribution covers econometrics, dynamic economics and the Chinese economy. A prolific author, Professor Chow’s publications include 14 books and over 200 articles.  He is the recipient of the prestigious China Economics Prize in 2017 awarded by the National Economics Foundation in China.

Besides academic work, Chow has also been an adviser on economic policy, economic reform, and economic education in both Taiwan and mainland China. He is also one of the earliest U.S.-based economists going to China in the 1980s and advising its educators and policymakers. Gregory Chow and his wife Pauline are the generous supporters of two fellowship programs by the OYCF, namely, the OYCF-Chow Teaching Fellowship and the OYCF-Chow Fellowship for Field Research.
